The Razia Mehsud Development Foundation (RMDF) marked the completion of its four inspiring years with a grand, historic, and dignified ceremony that reflected the spirit of service and resilience in Waziristan. The event brought together tribal elders, political leaders, district administration officials, journalists, social activists, poets, educators, and a large number of residents. More than a celebration, the gathering stood as a powerful symbol of hope, women’s empowerment, peacebuilding, and humanitarian commitment in one of Pakistan’s most resilient regions.
The ceremony highlighted the foundation’s journey of turning pain into purpose. One of the most significant announcements of the day was a historic relief initiative for landmine victims. A total of PKR 700,000 in cash assistance was distributed among seven affected individuals, with each recipient receiving PKR 100,000 to support their recovery and livelihoods.
In another significant step, RMDF formally launched fully funded educational scholarships for eleven landmine-affected children from Upper and Lower South Waziristan, including three girls. These scholarships cover all educational expenses, including tuition, hostel accommodation, transportation, books, uniforms, and other essential needs, ensuring that trauma does not become a barrier to education and a better future.
Chairperson Razia Mehsud made a heartfelt appeal during the ceremony, requesting the allocation of two kanals of land in Tehsil Sararogha for the construction of a “Vocational Skills Hub.” She explained that this center could become a turning point for thousands of young women and youth in Waziristan by providing them with practical skills, dignity, and economic independence.
The event featured impactful speeches from distinguished guests and community leaders. DPO South Waziristan Upper, Mr. Arshad Khan, attended as the chief guest and congratulated RMDF on completing four years of service. He shared a powerful example of Razia Mehsud’s courage, recalling how her timely reporting helped save the life of a woman facing an honor killing in Wadi Badr. He remarked that saving one life is equivalent to saving all of humanity, calling it a sign of hope for the entire region.
Senior Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader and former national and provincial assembly candidate, Haji Saeed Anwar Mehsud, described the day as a moment of pride for Waziristan. He stated that Razia Mehsud is doing what even elected representatives could not achieve and announced a personal donation of PKR 100,000 in support of the foundation’s work.
Tribal elder Malik Saleem Mehsud declared Razia Mehsud the pride of the Mehsud tribe, assuring full support from tribal elders. He strongly criticized those who discourage positive change, stating that such individuals neither contribute themselves nor allow others to serve.
The President of the Pakistan Peoples Party South Waziristan Upper, Shams Sahib, praised Razia Mehsud’s bravery and pledged unwavering support. Aamer Sohail Sadozai, founder of the Sahara Foundation, Dera Ismail Khan, emphasized that standing by persons with disabilities is the highest form of humanity and said that this compassion is clearly reflected in Razia Mehsud’s work.
Girls Degree College Principal, Ms. Afia Saadat, highlighted that Razia Mehsud’s achievements are proof of the immense potential of tribal women. She urged society to give girls opportunities, stating that they can reach the highest heights. Social worker Naseem Akhtar noted that Razia Mehsud is the first woman in the history of the tribal districts to represent women at such a prominent level, and that she is assured of continued support across every field.
The ceremony saw the participation of a wide range of notable figures, including tribal leaders, political representatives, journalists, businesspersons, educationists, and poets. Several individuals announced educational sponsorships during the event, including Shah Khalid, who pledged free education for five girls. Renowned poets added warmth and emotion to the gathering through their verses, making the occasion even more memorable.
In her deeply moving address, Chairperson Razia Mehsud reflected on the foundation’s journey. She described the past four years as the most valuable asset of her life. She shared that RMDF now supports landmine victims not only through financial aid but also through education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and access to prosthetic limbs.
She credited her success to the unwavering support of her father and her husband, Muhammad Kamran Atlas, stating that when a father and husband stand beside a daughter, she can change the course of history. She also invited her father, Professor Khanzada Mehsud, onto the stage to honor his forty years of service in education and community development.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, commemorative group photographs, collective prayers, and emotional moments of gratitude from the beneficiaries. Participants unanimously expressed confidence in RMDF, remarking that the foundation has accomplished what elected representatives could not. A communal meal was arranged for all attendees, bringing the ceremony to a warm and dignified close.

چئیرپرسن رضیہ محسود نے تحصیل سراروغہ میں دو کنال زمین دینے کی اپیل کی تاکہ “ووکیشنل اسکلز ہب” تعمیر کیا جائے، جو وزیرستان کی ہزاروں بیٹیوں اور نوجوانوں کی زندگی بدلنے کا ذریعہ بنے گا۔ اس موقع پر مختلف مہمانانِ خصوصی اور عمائدین نے تاریخی خطابات کیے۔ ڈی پی او جنوبی وزیرستان اپر جناب ارشد خان نے بطور مہمانِ خصوصی کہا کہ “میں کو چار سال مکمل ہونے پر دل کی گہرائیوں سے مبارکباد پیش کرتا ہوں۔ رضیہ محسود نے وادی بدر میں غیرت کے نام پر قتل ہونے والی خاتون کی بروقت اطلاع دے کر ایک انسانی جان بچائی، جو پورے وزیرستان کے لیے امید کی علامت ہے۔ ایک عورت کی جان بچانا پوری انسانیت کو بچانے کے مترادف ہے۔”
جمیعت علمائے اسلام کے سینئر رہنما اور سابق امیدوار برائے قومی و صوبائی اسمبلی حاجی سعید انور محسود نے کہا کہ “آج وزیرستان کے لیے فخر کا دن ہے کہ رضیہ محسود جیسی بیٹی موجود ہے جو وہ کام کر رہی ہیں جو ہمارے نمائندے بھی نہ کر سکے۔ یہ بیٹی پورے خطے کی تقدیر بدلنے جا رہی ہے۔” انہوں نے ایک لاکھ روپے امداد کا اعلان بھی کیا۔ قبائلی رہنما ملک سلیم محسود نے کہا کہ “رضیہ محسود محسود قوم کا فخر ہیں، آج ہم قبائلی مشران ان کی مکمل حمایت کا اعلان کرتے ہیں۔ جو لوگ ان پر تنقید کرتے ہیں وہ خود کچھ نہیں کر سکتے اور نہ کسی کو کچھ کرنے دیتے ہیں۔”
پیپلز پارٹی جنوبی وزیرستان اپر کے صدر شمس صاحب نے کہا کہ “رضیہ محسود بہادر بیٹی ہیں، ہم ان کے ساتھ شانہ بشانہ کھڑے ہیں۔” سہارا فاؤنڈیشن ڈیرہ اسماعیل خان کے بانی عامر سہیل سدوزئی نے کہا کہ “معذور افراد کا سہارا بننا سب سے بڑی انسانیت ہے، یہ وہی لوگ کر سکتے ہیں جن کے دل میں درد ہو اور رضیہ محسود انہی میں سے ہیں۔” گرلز ڈگری کالج کی پرنسپل محترمہ عافیہ سعادت نے کہا کہ “قبائلی بیٹیوں کے ٹیلنٹ کا ثبوت آج رضیہ محسود کے کام کی صورت میں سب کے سامنے ہے۔ بیٹیوں کو موقع دیں، یہ آسمان تک پہنچیں گی۔” سماجی کارکن نسیم اختر نے کہا کہ “قبائلی اضلاع کی تاریخ میں رضیہ محسود پہلی خاتون ہیں جو اس سطح پر خواتین کی نمائندگی کر رہی ہیں۔ ہم ہر میدان میں کے ساتھ کھڑے رہیں گے۔”

تقریب کا اختتام کیک کاٹنے، یادگار گروپ فوٹوز، اجتماعی دعا اور متاثرین کی خوشی و شکرگزاری کے ساتھ ہوا۔ شرکاء نے مکمل اعتماد کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ “جو کام ہمارے نمائندے نہ کر سکے، وہ رضیہ محسود ڈیویلپمنٹ فاؤنڈیشن نے کر دکھایا۔” آخر میں تمام شرکاء کے لیے پرتکلف کھانے کا اہتمام بھی کیا گیا
